• Blue Streak-Hygrade Motor Products, a subsidiary of Standard Motor Products, http://www.smpcorp.com/, is a leading aftermarket supplier of automotive replacement parts.  We supply Engine Management and Temperature Control parts to the traditional Warehouse Distributor throughout Canada.  We offer applications for all makes of cars and trucks, domestic and import, old and new.
• Founded in 1919, Standard Motor Products, located in Long Island City, New York, has facilities throughout the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Europe and Hong Kong.  Standard has marketed its superior ignition and electrical products in Canada under the Blue Streak name since the late 1940’s.
• Several years later, the line was expanded to include carburetor repair parts and Hygrade was added to the Blue Streak name.  The “jiffy kit”, a convenient package of parts routinely needed to lightly overhaul a carburetor, became not only Hygrade’s most important product, but is now the Standard of the carburetor parts industry.
• Standard had expanded its line in the early years to include ignition and primary wire and brought the line into Canada in the early 80’s.  The heavy duty construction of our Standard Plus wire sets has earned us the recognition of having the only aftermarket parts equal to or better than Original Equipment.
• In the late 70’s, Standard Motor Products moved into the temperature control industry and introduced the line to Canada in the mid 80’s.  In 1997, the Everco brand of temperature control products was acquired and coverage was further expanded.
• In 1989, Standard acquired Guaranteed Parts, an ignition and fuel systems company, and integrated it with the Standard family as a separate product line.
